Theater Department

Acting begins with exploration and improvisation before moving on to scene study, rehearsal and performance.

Musical Theatre is a sequential course of study in acting as well as vocal production and Broadway dance styles.

Theatre Production begins with practical work on stage productions, then students assume positions of responsibility on productions for the theatre, dance, and music departments.

October 23 (Sunday)	Department event – Hager House Ghost Tour Optional $5 donation to Hager House Senior Theatre student Ashley Warfield is volunteer tour guide, evening time TBA
October 24	Individual Showcase Performance Session 1 – Freshman/Sophomore – 6:30pm Session 2 – Junior/Senior – 8pm Tickets on sale Tuesday, October 18
November 5 (Saturday)	Department event – Corn Maze Adventure 6:30-9:30pm, $20 fee includes Admission and bus transportation
November 12-16	Tech and Dress rehearsals for Stage Door

November 28 &29	Beauty and the Beast auditions Freshmen/Sophomores 4:45-6:30pm Juniors / Seniors 4:45-7pm
December 1	Musical Theatre Ensemble Choreography rehearsal Women’s 4:40-6:30pm Mixed 7:30-8:45pm
December 2	Mixed and Women’s MT Ensembles performance for HCC ARC volunteers, 7pm
December 3 (Saturday)	Volunteer Department Event Memorial Illumination at Antietam Battlefield Probably a small bus fee to attend
December 4 (Sunday)	Select Upper Class Mixed MT Ensemble, 1-3pm Historical Society/ Miller House Holiday Event

December 19 &20	Tech/Dress rehearsal for Holiday Spectacular at Maryland Theatre – Entire Department
December 21	Holiday Spectacular, The Perfect Gift Maryland Theatre, 7:30pm
January 5	Actor’s Studio Showcase – semester performance
January 6 & 7	Maryland State Thespian Festival Entire department will attend all sessions
February 29	Special performance by MT Ensembles – TBD Chamber of Commerce Economic Commission Annual Business Awards
March 7 & 8	Individual Showcases for entire department
April 27, 28, 29 May 4, 5, 6	All School Musical at the Maryland Theatre Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Tickets to be sold through MD Theatre Box Office
